An Unforgettable Fusion of Fine Dining and Immersive Theatre

If, like most of the nation, you’ve been obsessed with The Traitors, we’ve got a dining experience that is right up your street. And if you have never seen The Traitors, this is a great place to start. We’re talking about The Imposters Dinner Experience, an event that will have you questioning everything about those around you, in a night of suspense, laughter, fantastic food, and of course, a whole load of treachery.

The Improsters private dinner experience

We were lucky enough to be invited along to this event by Adventure Connections at the magnificent Brighton Pavilion Gatehouse, for an exclusive preview of West End Events’ latest creation. Inspired by The Traitors TV show, it combined immersive entertainment with a dining experience unlike anything we’ve done before. The premise was simple – you have challenenges and over the course of the game, need to try and figure out who among you is a traitor and who is an imposter. It’s not as easy as it sounds!

The Venue

The setting alone for the event was incredible. The Brighton Pavilion Gatehouse, managed exclusively by Adventure Connections, is one of Brighton’s most impressive self-catering houses, sleeping up to 32 guests, and perfectly positioned opposite the Royal Pavilion. Its blend of grand architecture and homely comfort made it an ideal backdrop for a night of mystery and dining.

The Improsters private dinner experience

Popular with group celebrations such as hen parties, stags, family get-togethers and work do’s, the Gatehouse is a super versatile space that effortlessly brings people together. It has a large dining space, plenty of rooms for everyone to sleep, a living area, kitchen, breakfast room and more.

The event began with a drinks reception in the living room, complete with mood lighting, Traitors-inspired decor and a feel of trepidation in the air. It was a great chance to mingle, get to know each other and look out for any clues that might reveal if they would be an imposter or faithful later on!

We were then put into three teams and had to draw an envelope which we needed to keep secret. This disclosed whether we were an imposter or a faithful. I was pleased to draw a ‘faithful’ card as my poker face (or lack thereof) would have given me away in an instant!

Once our fate had been set, it was time to sit down in the equally fantastically dressed dining room and for the evening to really begin…

Drama, Suspense, and So Much Fun

Unlike a traditional dinner, we weren’t simply spectators in this event, we were part of the story. Among “the faithfuls” lurked a hidden imposter (or multiple imposters on some teams) whose identity was revealed through clever clues and lively performances by professional actors from West End Events.

Known for creating unforgettable themed parties across the UK, West End Events has previously brought us Gatsby Balls, James Bond Skyballs, and their ever-popular Murder Mystery nights. With The Imposters, they’ve taken immersive dining to a new level.

I don’t want to give too much away as the trepidation is part of the fun, but there were plenty of games, murders and lies throughout the evening that made for a really fun and different way to spend our time. The pacing was perfect, the acting sharp, and the whole evening balanced tension with laughter, ensuring everyone at the table was fully engaged. My mind on who was the imposter in our team kept changing, and it was perfectly balanced with games, food and time to socalise.

Next Level Dining

Alongside the games, was a delicious three-course meal accompanied by wine, beers and soft drinks. The three-course menu was expertly prepared by Dine Indulge, the UK’s premier private chef service. I started with a Garlic Mushrooms Medley, Pepper & Paprika Cream Sauce accompanied by a Rosemary Ciabatta, before moving onto a main of Roasted Chicken Breast & Pulled Thigh, Mustard & Lemon Gravy with Pancetta Chipolata, Roast New Potatoes, Carrot & Orange Puree, and Sugar Snaps. It was restaurant-quality food brought directly to the table with style and precision, packed with flavour. From the beautifully balanced starters to the indulgent dessert of Treacle Tart with Caramelised Pecan Crust & Clotted Cream, the entire meal was a sensory treat that perfectly complemented the theatrical experience.

Final Thoughts

The Improsters private dinner experience

The evening rounded up with each team guessing who they thought the imposter was, before the real deal made themselves known to the table! It was a spectacular reveal, and great fun! (My guess, unfortunately, was completely incorrect!)

The Imposters Dinner Experience was the perfect mix of food, theatre, and fun. It was an interactive evening that kept everyone laughing, guessing, and fully immersed from start to finish, offering the chance to meet new people and do something different. Between the top-tier catering from Dine Indulge, the charismatic performances by West End Events, and the seamless organisation from Adventure Connections and Office Christmas, it’s an event that sets the bar high for experiential dining.

Whether you’re planning a Christmas party, a team celebration, or just want a night out that’s a little different, this is one experience not to miss.

Book the evening for yourself

The evening was hosted by Adventure Connections, Brighton’s go-to agency for bespoke experiences and luxury group stays. With over 25 years in the events industry, their expertise shows. Everything ran seamlessly, from the dining setup to the dramatic reveals, and the team were all too happy to chat and just make sure it went without a hitch.

Adventure Connections also manages an impressive portfolio of event spaces, including the Brighton Pavilion Gatehouse itself. Backing the event was Office Christmas, the UK’s leading Christmas party agency. So, if you’re looking for an unforgettable festive party this year, Office Christmas should be your first stop. You’ll be left feeling well fed, with new contacts, and a suspicion that no-one is ever quite what they seem…!

The Imposters private dining experience was just a sneak peek of the Imposters Christmas party experience that will take place at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in London on the 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th December. Tickets are from £125+VAT per person and perfect for groups of 15+ people.

And of course, no visit would be complete without a stop at Santa’s Grotto – where families can meet Father Christmas, pose for photos, and encounter reindeer, polar bears, and toy-making elves. The grotto will be open from 6th to 24th December, but early booking is highly recommended as spaces fill up fast.

Even after Santa returns to the North Pole, the festive fun continues. When the winter season rolls around, there’s nothing more magical than Glow Wild’s light trail. Now in its twelfth year, Glow Wild weaves science with storytelling across a trail of newly commissioned, handcrafted installations from award-winning artists and local makers, including our biggest installation ever. Drawing inspiration from Kew’s Millennium Seed Bank, this year’s trail reveals nature’s seed-bearers – wolves, moths, fungi, rivers and even sleeping giants – as magical custodians of renewal and resilience.

Evocative audio vignettes inspired by seeds will be woven into the illuminated landscape. The sound pieces draw inspiration from quotes gathered from staff at the Millennium Seed Bank and our global partners, inviting guests to reflect on the power of nature, collaboration, and storytelling as they journey through the trail. Cate Blanchett, Kew Ambassador for Wakehurst, a passionate advocate for the Millennium Seed Bank, has voiced some of the words visitors will hear as they make their way through the installations.

Other highlights of the 2025 trail include:

  • Moon River by Ithaca and Michelle Dufaur: Over 13,000 individually programmed lights trace the river’s journey through the landscape, joined by rewilded lantern creatures crafted by Sussex maker MichelleDufar, including beavers, moths and storks. This is the largest installation ever featured at Glow Wild.
  • Polypodipus by OGE Group: A ginormous dreamlike, tentacled plant-creature that pulses with bioluminescent spores in a glowing pondscape, towering above visitors.
  • The Night Council by Kerith Ogden: Enter a glowing fungal glade to meet nine mythical nocturnal animals, connected by spores and ancient wisdom.
  • The Secret Sea Garden by Same Sky: Dive beneath the waves into a fantastical realm of jellyfish, sea horses and coral, celebrating the ocean’s role in long-distance seed dispersal.
  • The Caravan by Brockman Page: A majestic procession of glowing wolves, deer, foxes and an elephant, crafted from hazel and willow (coppiced from Wakehurst woodlands), each carrying precious seeds in their radiant frames.

Also new this year, the Flutterby Garden shimmers with delicate glass wings and wind chimes, while Time Sleeps in the Seeds transforms Wakehurst’s historic Elizabethan Mansion into a living canvas, telling the story of the seed bank through light and sound.

At the end of the trail, the Story Fire Circle offers a warm welcome, where visitors can gather beneath the winter sky to share tales, sing songs and toast marshmallows beside flickering flames.

Glow Wild 2025 also unveils a significantly enhanced catering experience, with an expanded range of warming street food, sweet treats and warming winter drinks available throughout the trail. On select nights, visitors can purchase additional tickets for a special evening dining experience in the beautifully decorated Elizabethan Mansion, adding an elegant new dimension to Glow Wild.

With free parking onsite and excellent public transport links just 10 minutes from Haywards Heath station, Glow Wild is easily reached from Brighton and London Gatwick

This winter, walk among glowing giants, mythical animals and luminous landscapes – and let nature ignite your imagination.

Festive fun: The Midwest’s largest city certainly knows how to do Christmas in traditional style – from funfair rides at Winter WonderFest and ice skating in Maggie Daley Park, to a stroll along upscale shopping avenue – the famed Magnificent Mile that’s illuminated by over a million white lights along 200 hundred trees. As one of the longest-running Christmas markets in the States, visitors can sample fresh pretzels, bratwurst and their famed hot spiced wine, gluhwein, which comes in a themed cup that changes design every year.

Must try experiences:  A drive to Lake Geneva is a winter day-trip not to be missed. This lake town is 1.5 hours from Chicago and home to skiing, sledding and snowshoeing. Visitors can dine in an Igloo with rooftop restaurants such as The Kennedy Rooftop offering heating glass bubble dining experiences overlooking Chicago’s iconic skyline.

Lucky are those who have a balcony. Especially in summer, of course, as an enlarged piece of living space with direct access to fresh air. Breakfast in the warm rays of the morning sun, coffee in the hot afternoon, and cosy get-togethers until sunset. All without having to leave the comfort of your own space! But in the cold of winter? Not so much. And yet, the balcony offers fantastic usable space to immerse the gloomy winter evenings in an atmospheric and festive ambiance with elegant and inspiring decorations.

Festive Season Balcony

Let there be light!

Where darkness quickly sets in due to the short winter days, warm light is the be-all and end-all to raise the mood in the rooms (and outside!). Classic LED outdoor light chains, candles, or modern and elegant eye-catchers such as light rings to hang up can be installed without much effort and energy costs (the selection of solar-powered variants is enormous!) and immediately forgotten again. With the help of timers, the lights and lanterns turn on exactly when it starts to get dim and cosy in the day. Warm white lights in particular radiate warmth, but pure white and coloured light bulbs can also be real eye-catchers and cherry-picked highlights to look at – not only in your own living room but also for everyone who walks past your balcony. And, let’s be honest, fairy lights will always be the best part of Christmas decorations.

Utilising the railing

But there are other things too, especially for when it’s not dark enough for the lights yet! The railing in particular offers a great surface for garlands. Simply swung tightly around the railing or the poles, they already come wind- and weatherproof, or can be quickly made secure with the help of, for example, zip ties. Especially natural materials like fir branches, jute and foraged materials like pinecones look beautiful and the whole area can be treated as an impromptu Christmas wreath. Light nets are fantastically effective here and favourite decorations such as Christmas baubles. Christmas fruits or little wooden figurines that are well tied with twine round off everything.

There is no such thing as bad weather – just wrong clothing!

Anyone who creates a cheerful little place should also be able to use it, surely. And even when the winter evenings are cold, nothing beats the feeling of comfort of Christmas decorations all around you and the upcoming joy of the festivities. Hats, gloves, coats – but also snug blankets and pillows covering your balcony furniture help to be able to enjoy the fresh, crisp air in the coming months without getting too cold. Or rather, to help enjoy, the delicious cocoa with some whipped cream. Or spicy winter coffee. Or mulled wine. Mmmmh, mulled wine!
